Al Ain City Tour With Private Vehicle & Driver
Discover Al Ain with a private vehicle and professional driver, with the itinerary planned around your group rather than a shared sightseeing schedule.
Asia Star provides private Al Ain city tours from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain for families, corporate groups, friends and larger tour groups. Choose the attractions you actually want to visit and travel in a vehicle suited to your passenger count—from private cars and Mercedes V-Class vehicles to Toyota Hiace vans, Mercedes Sprinters, minibuses and 50-seater coaches.
A typical Al Ain tour can combine the city’s UNESCO-listed oasis landscape, historic forts and palaces with the mountain scenery of Jebel Hafit.

How Should You Plan an Al Ain City Tour?
Al Ain deserves more than a checklist of quick photo stops. Some attractions involve walking, the Camel Market requires advance planning, Jebel Hafit takes the tour away from the central heritage area, and attractions such as Al Ain Zoo can take several hours on their own. For that reason, the best itinerary depends on where you start, how long the vehicle is booked and what your group actually wants to experience.
| Tour format | Recommended for | Suggested focus |
|---|---|---|
| Half-day Al Ain tour | Guests already staying in Al Ain | Oasis + selected heritage sites |
| Full-day Al Ain tour | Groups wanting the main highlights | Oasis + heritage + Jebel Hafit |
| Al Ain tour from Dubai | Dubai hotel/residence pickup | Full-day recommended |
| Al Ain tour from Abu Dhabi | Abu Dhabi city pickup | Full-day recommended |
| Heritage-focused tour | History/culture groups | Oasis, Al Jahili, Qasr Al Muwaiji, Hili |
| Family tour | Families with children | Flexible heritage + mountain/park stops |
For visitors starting in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, a full-day booking is best choice because inter-emirate travel needs to be included before and after the sightseeing.
Suggested Full-Day Al Ain Tour
Al Ain Tour could include the following places recommended by us:
Al Ain Oasis
Al Ain Oasis should be treated as a real visit rather than a five-minute photo stop. The oasis covers approximately 1,200 hectares and contains around 147,000 date palms, with shaded pathways running through an active agricultural landscape. One of its most important features is the traditional falaj irrigation system, which carries water through channels to the cultivated land.
Al Jahili Fort
Al Jahili Fort is one of Al Ain’s major heritage landmarks. It combines well with Al Ain Oasis because both attractions are within the central heritage area. If your group wants to spend time inside the exhibitions rather than simply photographing the building, allow proper visiting time when planning the itinerary.
Qasr Al Muwaiji
Qasr Al Muwaiji gives visitors another perspective on Al Ain and the history of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family. The restored fort contains an exhibition explaining the history of the site and the Al Nahyan family. It is also connected with Al Muwaiji Oasis, where the traditional falaj irrigation system can still be seen.
Hili Archaeological Park
Hili Archaeological Park is particularly relevant for groups interested in the much earlier history of Al Ain. The site includes archaeological remains from the Bronze and Iron Ages and forms part of Al Ain’s UNESCO World Heritage landscape. It works well in a history-focused itinerary but does not need to be included in every general sightseeing tour.
Jebel Hafit
Jebel Hafit rises to approximately 1,249 metres and is one of Al Ain’s defining natural landmarks. The paved mountain road allows visitors to travel toward viewpoints with wide views across Al Ain and the surrounding landscape. Because reaching the mountain and travelling along the mountain road takes time, Jebel Hafit should be treated as a major part of the itinerary rather than another quick city stop.
Only smaller vans are able to go to the top of Jebel Hafit, buses like the 30 seater, or 50 seater buses cannot go to the top of Jebel Hafit. So if you are planning to include Jebel Hafit in your Al Ain city tour, please book 7 seater, 14 seater, or 15 seater van.
Green Mubazzarah
Green Mubazzarah sits at the foot of Jebel Hafit and works naturally with a mountain itinerary. The area is known for its green spaces and is popular for family visits and picnics. It can be included before or after the Jebel Hafit mountain drive depending on the day’s route and available time.
Al Ain Camel Market
The Al Ain Camel Market can provide a very different experience from the forts and oasis—but this stop needs more planning than many old tour pages suggest. The market is a working camel market, not a staged tourist attraction. The market is also located outside central Al Ain, so it should be included only when the group specifically wants to visit rather than automatically adding it to every itinerary.
Al Ain Tour From Dubai
Private pickup can be arranged from hotels, residences and other agreed locations across Dubai. Popular pickup areas include:
Dubai Marina
JBR
Palm Jumeirah
Downtown Dubai
Business Bay
Deira
Bur Dubai
Al Barsha
Dubai hotels and residences
The road journey between Dubai and Al Ain is approximately 1.5–2 hours each way depending on the pickup area and traffic. Because several hours of the booking are required for inter-emirate driving, we recommend a full-day tour rather than a short half-day booking.
Recommended Al Ain city tour from Dubai structure: Dubai pickup → Al Ain Oasis → Al Jahili Fort → Qasr Al Muwaiji or another heritage stop → Green Mubazzarah → Jebel Hafit → Dubai. The exact route can be adjusted according to the group’s priorities.
Al Ain Tour From Abu Dhabi
Groups staying in Abu Dhabi city can also book a private Al Ain day trip. Al Ain is approximately a 90-minute drive from central Abu Dhabi, making it a full-day excursion trip. Pickup can be arranged from:
Abu Dhabi hotels
Corniche
Yas Island
Saadiyat Island
Al Reem Island
Other agreed Abu Dhabi locations
Pickup From Hotels in Al Ain
If your group is already staying in Al Ain, the tour can begin directly from your hotel, residence or other agreed location. Local pickup reduces intercity driving time and allows more time for:
- Oasis walking
- Museums and heritage sites
- Jebel Hafit
- Camel Market
- Hili Archaeological Park
- Longer lunch or rest stops
Choose the Right Vehicle for Your Al Ain Tour

Frequently Asked Questions About Al Ain City Tours
Can we visit Al Ain Oasis, Jebel Hafit and the main forts in one day?
Yes. A full-day tour can combine the oasis, heritage sites and Jebel Hafit. The exact number of stops should depend on your pickup location and how much time you want to spend at each attraction. Please note that only vans below 15 seaters can go to the top of Jebel Hafit. Any vehicles bigger than the 15 seater cannot go to the top of Jebel Hafit.
Can we visit both Al Ain Zoo and all the main city attractions in one day?
We do not recommend planning the zoo as a quick stop. The zoo can require several hours, and we recommend a full day for the complete zoo and safari experience. If the zoo is important, reduce the number of other stops.
Do we need to arrange the Camel Market visit in advance?
Yes. Please inform us if you specifically want to visit the camel market so it can be considered when planning the schedule.
Is Jebel Hafit included in every Al Ain tour?
No. It is included when requested. Because the mountain requires additional driving time, some heritage-focused groups may prefer to spend those hours at the oasis, archaeological park and forts instead. Also the mountain top requires smaller vans, bigger buses cannot go to the top of Jebel Hafit.
Can you pick us up from Dubai for an Al Ain tour?
Yes. Dubai hotel and residence pickup can be arranged. A full-day booking is recommended because travelling between Dubai and Al Ain takes approximately 1.5–2 hours each way depending on the pickup location and traffic.
Can you pick us up from Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Private Al Ain tours can start in Abu Dhabi city, Yas Island, Saadiyat or another agreed location.
Which tour is better for visitors mainly interested in UAE history?
A heritage-focused itinerary combining Hili Archaeological Park, Al Ain Oasis, Al Jahili Fort and Qasr Al Muwaiji provides a stronger historical experience than trying to add every family or mountain attraction.
Is Al Ain suitable for elderly passengers?
Yes, but the itinerary should be adapted. Oasis walking distances, outdoor heat and the amount of time spent entering and leaving attractions should be considered. Tell us about mobility requirements before finalizing the route.
Can a large group tour Al Ain in a 50-seater coach?
Yes, large-group transportation can be arranged. For a full-size coach, we confirm the planned attractions and practical stopping/parking requirements before finalizing the route. Please note that Jebel Hafit mountain top will not be included in this 50 seater coach tour of Al Ain, since only smaller vans can go to the top of Jebel Hafit.
Can we start the tour in Al Ain and finish in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Pickup and final drop-off do not have to be in the same city. If your group is travelling with hotel or airport luggage, send the baggage quantity so the correct vehicle can be assigned.
Are attraction tickets included?
No attraction tickets are not included in this tour. You can request us for attraction tickets separately.
